iPad 2 accessories continue to hit the market waves
Battery Debate- Good Enough or Breakthrough Needed?
To get a sense for just how revolutionary lithium ion has been, consider that the nickel-cadmium ("NiCad") battery which powered [Nokia's early cellphone] the Cityman was barely half the size and weight of the first rechargeable battery technologies ever commercialized in the 1800's. In contrast, a mere 20 years of lithium ion development has driven nearly a 5-fold improvement, and at a significantly lower cost point.
Hard to imagine a game-changer in EV batteries? Just keep in mind that after its release in 1991, Li-ion technology quickly took off to ultimately capture the entire market for portable electronics. And just a few years earlier, in the mid-1980s, nobody saw it coming.
According to [Department of Energy chief Steven] Chu, the super-battery -- one that could affordably and sustainably power say a Ford Fusion 450 miles on a single charge -- is almost here: "It's not like it's 10 years off in the future.... It might be five years off.... It's soon!" Sounds good, but the super-battery has been five years away for more than 100 years. Seriously.
I'm most excited about new business models like Better Place's battery exchange system that eliminate "range anxiety." I'm excited about plug-in hybrids that use off-the-shelf battery technology to increase convenience and efficiency at marginal cost. And I'm excited about new mobility concepts like car- and ride-sharing that challenge long-standing behavioral assumptions and create value in new ways. What do all these new concepts share? They have nothing to do with the battery.
By separating the ownership of the car and the Acer as07b72 Batteries and providing consumers with the network and infrastructure to conveniently charge the battery when parked -- or switch the battery in less time than it takes to refuel on longer drives -convenience is attained. Price the car without the battery at purchase, and the rest as you drive and the electric car enjoys the same buying model as a gasoline car - and the electric car proves cheaper today and progressively cheaper to own and operate with time.

Need to Know 8 Things That Suck About the iPad
Have you seen the bezel on this thing?! It'shuge! I know you don't want to accidentally input a command when your thumb is holding it, but come on.
This is a backbreaker. If this is supposed to be a replacement for netbooks Dell studio 1535 battery,Dell studio 1737 Laptop Battery, how can it possibly not have multitasking? Are you saying I can't listen to Pandora while writing a document? I can't have my Twitter app open at the same time as my browser? I can't have AIM open at the same time as my email? Are you kidding me? This alone guarantees that I will not buy this product.
No front facing camera is one thing. But no back facing camera either? Why the hell not? I can't imagine what the downside was for including at least one camera. Could this thing not handle video iChat?hp nc6400 battery
So much for Apple revolutionizing tablet inputs; this is the same big, ugly touchscreen keyboard we've seen on other tablets, and unless you're lying on the couch with your knees propping it up, it'll be awkward to use.
Want to watch those nice HD videos you downloaded from iTunes on your TV? Too damned bad! If you were truly loyal, you'd just buy an AppleTV already.
Get ready for Maxi pad jokes, and lots of 'em!
No Flash is annoying but not a dealbreaker on the iPhone and iPod Touch. On something that's supposed to be closer to a netbook or laptop? It will leave huge, gaping holes in websites. I hope you don't care about streaming video! God knows not many casual internet users do. Oh wait, nevermind, they all do.
So much for those smooth lines. If you want to plug anything into this, such as a digital camera, you need all sorts of ugly adapters. You need an adapter for USB for god's sake.
Widescreen movies look lousy on this thing thanks to its 4:3 screen, according to Blam, who checked out some of Star Trek on one. It's like owning a 4:3 TV all over again!
Sure, it's "unlocked." But it won't work on T-Mobile, and it uses microSIMs that literally no one else uses.
The iPad only runs apps from the App Store. The same App Store that is notorious for banning apps for no real reason, such as Google Voice. Sure, netbooks might not have touchscreens, but you can install whatever software you'd like on them. Want to run a different browser on your iPad? Too bad!

3D Laptop – Dell Infuses XPS 17-inch Laptop With 3D Screen
Release dates for Dell's refreshed XPS laptops have turned into a moving target, and all the specs haven't been quite clear. Yet Dell on Tuesday suddenly announced immediate US availability for both the 15- and 17-inch models, along with a finalized feature set that now officially includes 3D video.
In a Dell press briefing session I attended during CES in January, Alison Gardner, a Dell product manager, sketched out new features for "AV enthusiasts"-such as JBL speakers and MAXXAudio 3-and for "immersive multimedia."
Dell asked reporters to hold off on publishing stories about the new notebooks pending a formal announcement then slated for February 20. Yet Dell's Lionel Menchaca detailed some preliminary specs-for the XPS 17 only-in a blog posted on Dell's Web site, also during the week of CES.
Sure enough, while Dell's formal announcement on February 20 didn't happen, a follow-up blog post by Menchaca on February 22 made it clear that both the XPS 17 and XPS 15 will indeed offer previously outlined features such as Sandy Bridge Dual Core i3/i5/i7 processors; NVidia Optimus graphics options for the i7 versions; USB 3.0 ports; Skype-certified HD Webcams; a "full Stage experience" on all panels; and the aforementioned high-end audio.
In his post on Tuesday, Menchaca added some new information to the previously intimated facts about XPS. Somewhat vaguely, he mentioned support for "a range of Sandy Bridge or Huron River CPU options: i3/i5/i7. Dual core and Quad core." Huron River, Intel's mobile platform, integrates Sandy Bridge, but the two are not one and the same.
Menchaca also spoke on Tuesday of a new panel on the 17-inch model that "brings 3D capability with a 1920-by-1080 screen." When used with the new optionally available 1920-by-1080 screen and a 3GB NVidia GeForce GT 555, the XPS 17 can deliver "new levels of performance in 2D and especially 3D gaming, and beyond," according to the Dell blogger.
In a statement e-mailed to me soon afterward that same day, a Dell spokesperson dubbed the XPS 17 "the first laptop to integrate 3DTV play software for 3D Blu-ray playback, gaming and photos." The XPS 15 also offers an option for a WLED (1920-by-1080) screen, she said.
Just last week, a Dell insider told me that Dell planned to postpone its XPS announcements from February 20 to March 15-or even later-due to "the problems with Intel's chips."
But things can change fast in laptop land. In the announcement released through Menchaca's blog on Tuesday, he also alluded to chipset snares, but he strongly suggested that Dell has found workarounds.
Dell is no stranger to 3D displays thanks to its Alienware division but they also offer their own XPS performance laptops now featuring a 3D display and the new 2nd generation Intel Core processor.
